Working Vacation

I recently took a week of vacation time. But instead of flying off to some exotic destination, I instead decided to stay around town and work on some home improvement projects. Fortunately, my Dad was on vacation at the same time (how convenient), and the two of us got a lot done. First, we created a sidewalk with an occasional step out of concrete pavers. Then we laid a 12 x24 patio out of the same material behind my house. The integrated sidewalk/patio results have been pleasing. There is more to do to refine things, but it sure is progress. There's nothing quite like going back to work to take a rest from your "vacation".
