My Patio

For some time I've been wanting to expand my usable living area by creating an outdoor space to relax and entertain. Last summer (with Dad's help) I was able to get the base tile work of the patio installed. It was then that I began to plan how I wanted the patio to look when complete. I decided it would be nice to have a privacy fence to shield off the view of the unsightly bank just behind the house along the outside perimeter of the patio. The area where the patio was installed had been a driveway at the time that I purchase the house, but I had since re-routed the driveway to a more appropriate location. Knowing this part of ground would be hard packed and stony I was slightly dreading the kind of complications this might impose on the post hole digging process. But a few days ago Dad and I once again set to work and it didn't go quite as badly as feared. The stones weren't as deep as I thought, and in about two partial work days we had this completed. Tonight I had my first patio party. I'm really enjoying the new outdoor space.

Below are a couple more pics of the project.
