nn Swann of Pittsburgh Steeler fame and current Republican nominee for governor of Pennsylvania visited the company for which I work. It was awesome to get a sense of what he is really like in person. There was palpable excitement in the air as he strode into the room and the large crowd of employees leapt to their feet cheering. He quickly took the stage and proceeded to talk about how he has heard the concerns of Pennsylvanians and is planning to implement change if elected governor. He interspersed his conversation with us with moments of hilarity and humor. It was like he was "one of the boys" so to speak. Very likeable. Because he was on a tight schedule and had an event in another part of town to attend, he regretfully announced that he would not have time to give autographs. He did however make a quick pass among the crowd shaking
hands. I had my RAZR camera phone at the ready and made a beeline towards him, closing in on his left flank. Luckily, he turned my way and I asked him if I could get a picture with him. He happily agreed so I handed off my RAZR to a co-worker, Ashley. Then things got a little crazy. Ashley, not being familiar with my phone got confused on how to work the camera. He got the phone reversed as he snapped the picture and ended up with a close up shot of his own face. LOL! Mr. Swann was patient through it all and we got the picture taken correctly before he cruised off to his next stop. Success!! I was thrilled to have pulled it off. Thanks, Ash, for taking my pic so fast and on the spot with an unfamiliar phone. It was all good in the end. I'm still laughing about it.Later, I found out that another co-worker with a camera caught a couple of shots as well. S
o I have them, too. Thanks Robin! To learn more about the Swann-Matthews campaign for Pennsylvania visit the Swann for Governor website.

Whoa....you may have been standing by the next governor......
I love the story of your friend taking one of his own face.
Also loved how you said you closed in on his left flank!
You're too funny!
Nice! I hope he is victorious and the corrupt, organized-crime-supported Rendell regime comes to a crashing defeat!
