City of Clouds

Several summers ago I was with a group of friends on my way to a baseball game at Mets Stadium in New York City. It was a bright, summer Saturday. We cruised excitedly along Interstate 80 east. Suddenly the city skyline came into view. Off in the distance the great city seemed overwhelmed by the brilliant, cloud-filled sky; a grand city melting away under a vastness of blue. I snapped the picture somewhere about then.

Four years have passed. I was browsing my files tonight and ran across the photo from that wonderful summer day. The memory drifted back...
