Today was a busy day. Unlike most Saturdays when I can sleep in a bit longer than the usual workday, my alarm went off at 5:30 am. Of course, I did the usual sequence of hitting the snooze button a half dozen time. I really didn't need to get up quite that early but I did need to be out the door around 7:15. Today was the day for my car inspection. For those of you who do not live in a state that requires mandatory, annual car inspections you can now take a moment to give thanks. (Pause) Now that you've done that, let's get back to the story at hand. So, I get to the garage and after some sitting around for a while I find out I need two new tires, a ball joint, and a new windshield washer motor in order to pass inspection. Devastating! I was stuck. My current inspection sticker expires the end of this month. I'm running out of time. So I told them to go ahead and do the needed repairs. Unfortunately, the windshield washer motor had to be shipped to them since it wasn't on hand. So, that part couldn't be done today. I have to take the car back on Monday. I was expecting the tires would need to be replaced but was totally unprepared for the other items. So, this is going to end up costing me much more than I originally anticipated. Not only did I get hit with bad news, but I had to sit there for 3 hours while they did their thing. Such is life, I guess.
I got home around noon and soon began power washing my decks. They look much better now, and I'll be able to stain them soon. I think it will improve their appearance so much. What would we do without power tools?
This day is ending and my head is aching...
